85. Sashimi al fresco
After a while, Rumi stood up and said he regretted he had to take his leave.
Walt and I decided to move to a table outside to be with the lights and people walking there because that seemed less lonely. We ordered some sashimi.
It was then then we noticed on the pavement a book of Rumi’s poems. He must have dropped it as he left. We picked it up and saw that sakura and gingko leaves had been pressed between some pages marking perhaps a dozen poems and perfuming the book.
We opened it to the first sakura leaf…
